The Path I Chose

And Why I'm Sharing It with You

If my stories have left you wondering whether it's possible to begin again, I'd like to share the path that helped me begin.

When I lost my job at sixty, I didn't just lose an income.

I lost the future I thought I had.

I knew I needed to earn money, but I also knew I didn't want to simply find another job and carry on as though nothing had changed.

Something in me had changed too.

I wanted more control over my time. I wanted work that could fit the life I was trying to build rather than a life built around my work. And after years of working for other people, I wanted to know whether I could create something of my own.

The problem was, I had no idea what that something was.

I didn't have a product to invent.

I didn't have an online business.

I didn't consider myself particularly techy.

And I certainly wasn't sitting there at sixty thinking I knew how to become an entrepreneur on the internet.

I just knew I needed another possibility.

That search eventually led me to LaunchYou.

What I Found

What appealed to me wasn't a promise of easy money.

It was the opportunity to learn.

I could learn how an online business actually worked. I could follow a framework instead of trying to figure everything out from scratch. I could learn from people who had already done it and be part of a community of people who were building something of their own too.

And I could do it at my own pace.

I didn't have to know exactly what I wanted to build before I began.

That mattered, because I didn't.

I simply started learning.

And somewhere along the way, something unexpected happened.

I began to see possibilities I hadn't been able to see before.

What That Made Possible

A Few Good Friends is one of those possibilities.

This website.

These stories.

The community I'm building.

The confidence to put my own ideas into the world and see where they might lead.

LaunchYou didn't create A Few Good Friends for me.

It taught me skills that helped me create it for myself.

It helped me learn how to build a website, communicate online, reach people, understand marketing and begin building something that belongs to me.

And I'm still learning.

That's an important part of this story.

I didn't arrive at some magical finish line where suddenly I knew everything.

I'm building as I go.

I'm trying things.

Some work. Some don't.

I change direction when I need to.

But I'm doing things today that I couldn't have imagined myself doing a few years ago.

And yes, I'm also building an income through what I've learned.

Why I'm Telling You This

I've shared a lot of my life through A Few Good Friends.

I've written about losing my job.

Starting over.

Finding happiness.

Finding my voice.

And discovering that a life can change when you thought most of the big changes were already behind you.

So it wouldn't feel right to leave this part out.

Because learning how to build something of my own has become part of that story too.

Not because I think everyone reading this should do what I did.

I don't.

But because someone reading my stories may be standing in a place that feels a little like the one I was standing in.

Maybe You're Standing Somewhere Similar

Your circumstances may be completely different from mine.

Maybe you haven't lost a job.

Maybe you're retired and discovering you'd still like to earn something of your own.

Maybe your life has changed and the work that once suited you doesn't anymore.

Maybe you'd like more flexibility or more control over your time.

Or maybe there's simply a quiet voice inside you saying,

I'd like to see what else I'm capable of.

You don't need to know what you want to build yet.

I didn't.

You don't need to have everything figured out.

I certainly didn't.

And you don't need to decide today that you're going to start a business.

You only need to be curious enough to see what's possible.

What Is LaunchYou?

LaunchYou is the online business education and community I found when I was looking for my own next step.

It combines training, mentorship, proven frameworks and a community of people who are learning to build businesses and lives on their own terms.

What attracted me was that I didn't have to invent the path myself.

There was a structure I could follow, people I could learn from and a community around me while I figured out what my version of this could look like.

It still takes work.

It takes learning.

It takes patience.

And it takes a willingness to do things that sometimes feel uncomfortable.

But that's also part of what has made it valuable to me.

It didn't just teach me about online business.

It showed me that I was still capable of learning something completely new.

Is It Right for Everyone?

No.

And I genuinely mean that.

Some women will come to A Few Good Friends because they enjoy the stories.

Some may find something here that makes them feel understood.

Some may share a thought or experience of their own.

Some may simply stop by from time to time.

That's enough.

You don't need to be interested in building a business to belong here.

And it has changed what I believe is possible for this stage of my life.
