My Story

I didn’t set out to build a community

I simply started sharing my stories.

For most of my life, I thought I was the only one who felt the way I did.

Like many women, I spent years trying to keep everything together.

I was a wife.

A mother.

A business owner.

A daughter.

A sister.

Life brought wonderful moments.

It also brought heartbreak.

The end of a marriage.

The loss of people I loved.

Depression.

Losing my job at sixty.

And more than once, the feeling that I didn't know what came next.

What surprised me wasn't that life became difficult.

It was how often I believed I had to go through those seasons alone.

Over time, I discovered something that changed me.

The moments that helped me heal weren't the ones where someone had all the answers.

They were the moments when someone simply sat beside me and said,

"Me too."

That's what my sister Barbara did for me.

It's what a few dear friends have done throughout my life.

And it's what I hope A Few Good Friends can become for other women.

This isn't a place for perfect lives.

Or quick fixes.

Or pretending everything is okay.

It's a place for honest stories.

Gentle conversations.

Shared laughter.

A few tears.

And the quiet reassurance that none of us has to walk through life's seasons alone.

If you've found your way here, I hope you'll make yourself comfortable.

Read a story.

Join A Few Good Friends.

Stay awhile.

I have a feeling you might find a few good friends here.
