Maybe there is more ahead of you than you can see right now.
Life changes us.
Sometimes in ways we expect.
And sometimes through things we never would have chosen.
A loss.
A relationship that changed.
Children growing up and building lives of their own.
Retirement.
A career ending.
A dream that no longer feels like it belongs to us.
Or simply waking up one day and realizing that somewhere along the way, we've changed too.
For so much of our lives, we're busy taking care of what needs to be done and being who other people need us to be.
And then something shifts.
We find ourselves wondering...
What matters to me now?
Not what should matter.
Not what other people expect.
What matters to me?
Maybe you haven't asked yourself that question in a very long time.
You don't need to know the answer today.
But perhaps there are a few things worth wondering about.
What do you want more of in your life?
Is there something you miss about the person you used to be?
Is there something that once fit your life but doesn't anymore?
What have you found yourself curious about lately?
Is there something you've quietly wanted to try but keep putting off?
And if nobody else had an opinion about how you should live this part of your life...
What might you want it to look like?
Maybe nothing comes to mind yet.
That's okay.
Or maybe one of those questions stirred something.
A thought.
A memory.
A possibility.
Something you haven't let yourself think about in a while.
Because here's something I'm learning too:
We matter.
What we want matters.
What brings us joy matters.
What we're curious about matters.
And no matter how much life has changed, there can still be something beautiful ahead of us.
We don't have to know exactly what it looks like.
Sometimes we just need to give ourselves permission to wonder.
Maybe it's time to be curious
A beautiful life doesn't look the same for everyone.
Maybe yours includes more time with the people you love.
Maybe you'd like to travel somewhere you've always wanted to go.
Learn something new.
Make new friends.
Return to something you once loved.
Volunteer.
Create.
Work differently.
Or perhaps there's an idea that's been quietly following you around for a while.
You don't have to turn any of it into a plan.
You could simply ask yourself:
What's one thing I'm curious enough to explore?
Not commit to.
Not succeed at.
Just explore.
Sometimes trying one small thing teaches us more about what we want than thinking about it for another year.
You get to decide what comes next
There isn't one right way forward.
And I'm certainly not going to tell you what yours should look like.
But I can share stories.
I can ask questions.
I can introduce you to possibilities.
And I can tell you about the things I've tried along the way.
Then you get to decide what, if anything, speaks to you.
Where would you like to go from here?
I want to keep reading.
There may be another story waiting for you.
Something came to mind.
If you'd like to share it, I'd love to hear what's on your mind.
I'm curious about creating something of my own.
If you've been wondering what that could look like, I'll share the path I chose.
